I did see Botch at the Botan, but I was a dumb 17-year old and I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. Saw em year later on Murder City Devils' final tour and finally got it.
Also, Low at the Botan was amazing, and Matt Davis did his solo stuff at that show too, which fucking killed it.

I made some really good looking fliers...but of all the ones to make shitty I made that Converge one really shitty...stupid drawing, bad typography - "looks like shit...splatter some red ink on it, that'll look tough....OR it'll look like a pink koolaid stain". I also like that when Sxott and I found that photocopier that did red and black - lots of fliers came with both red and black and look like you need 3D glasses to read them (season of fire, for example).
Re: A very incomplete IowaHardcore flier archive (97-02 era)
my favorite of the red/black /3d style flyers were the catharsis and pg99 ones. though i guess the pg99 was just red ink. but still, looked awesome. i'll dig deeper this weekend and see if i can find some more. i also think this archive is lacking in the mtown/cedar rapids show department, of which there were many good shows in this period…
i loved both botch shows, but am partial to that gig at gabe's during the last mcd tour. shit got real. glad they didn't play ames or sioux city as they were considering. i think that gig went perfectly and the rafters got some good use that night

Yes, I am definitely missing waverly-mtown-cedarfalls-waterloo. I know I'll be getting contributions to more thoroughly represent iowa city and QC. I know a lot more happened in Sioux City that I have no fliers for.
I have never seen a bad Botch show, every one was beyond great - you can't say that for Milemarker....I've seen some surprisingly shitty ones of those. Did they actually play that Botan show? or were they too late - all i remember is them staying at sxott's and being real stuck up and only wanting to lecture us on the evils of crimethinc and Brian D from Catharsis. The night before Botch's final show in Seattle I saw a hideous milemarker early and late show that involved painful, embarrassing puppet shows by Roby.
ps- is this jason brizzi?

no they didn't. But to fill the gap there were a couple random people that just grabbed instruments and played; that was terrible; and then everyone talked In Loving Memory into playing with Elliot on guitar and Joe being super sick.
My friend filmed this but he lost the tape that same night

I would love to see the video for the release of This is the Way to Rule again. Shit is the best ever.
Also, Joe Ross has some old band bullshit videos, watched a pretty good Swing By Seven live video from '02, Keith on guitar.

I have footage from a Botan show that features Call Me Cool's first show, A few Suburban Scum songs, Small Scale Fury set, and Horseshoe Spatulas. I remember this show too, there were like 300 kids there. There was no screamo present.
abortions for some, miniature american flags for others

saw this footage recently too... poopy huh
not being biased because this is after i got kicked out haha. but honestly it just isnt as good as all the other projects from these members.
this is a wierd band, not all the way screamo, not all the way metalcore. its just very confused.
ill even admit the stuff i wrote for the band was shitty. trying to not be screamo, but members wouldnt go all the way with the metalcore trends of that time. it just didnt come out right.

That split 7" with Calling Gina Clark rips though... probably because Will drums on it.

If you know Davo, asking him would probably be your most likely source for the Hairy Mary's shows on your list. At The Drive In played here a few times, he's probably bound to have one from the public access show he did. Or maybe he's reading this and will chime in?
