Double Down
Anybody do the Double Down at KFC yet? The KFC website sure has some funky ass music on their homepage to promote it. http://www.kfc.com/
I poop on Petland!
Re: Double Down
Heard it was sort of underwhelming for the price. Would like to try though.

Re: Double Down
I'm pretty sure I read something in a PETA pamphlet a year or so ago mentioning that KFC would start carrying vegan and vegetarian food items. Too much processed soy and TVP . It would be nostalgic to eat, but in no way healthy.inx515xhell wrote:kfc's in canada are selling a vegan version of this.

I don't think people consider health when they walk into a KFC. Also, a lot of vegetarian and vegan shit is almost as processed as KFC chicken. Trying to get something that isn't meat to taste like meat...can't be natural.Walking Thunder wrote:I'm pretty sure I read something in a PETA pamphlet a year or so ago mentioning that KFC would start carrying vegan and vegetarian food items. Re: Double Down
That's not really too surprising considering the majority of KFC's business is international these days and they operate in places where vegan foods and/or diets are more common. I think KFC is huge in China, getting bigger in India (largest vegetarian population) and very popular in Europe, especially the UK, where vegetarian diets are more common among the white population than here and even higher considering the notable Indian population and their tendency towards vegetarianism. Middle Easterners love KFC. Chicken is the primary draw, of course, but I think having to cater to non-North American taste buds and diets makes having veg-friendly food seem a little more reasonable. Either way, I'll pass, thank you.Walking Thunder wrote: I'm pretty sure I read something in a PETA pamphlet a year or so ago mentioning that KFC would start carrying vegan and vegetarian food items
Although at the last vegan potluck I was at someone made mashed potatoes with gravy and the gravy tasted like KFC's gravy, which was a plus. Jill, I think that was you?
Their campaign to promote themselves as a healthier alternative to fast food burgers a few years ago was pretty funny though.jjjsXe wrote: I don't think people consider health when they walk into a KFC. .
Duh. They don't exactly cater to the Dvorak and Wagner segment of the population.Big Fat Retard wrote:The KFC website sure has some funky ass music on their homepage to promote it. http://www.kfc.com/

Re: Double Down
Fair enough, if by "shit" you mean mock-meat then I concur. I don't eat that much of it because (1) it's expensive, (2) it's not filling, and (3) it's not a very healthy alternative to blood.jjjsXe wrote:I don't think people consider health when they walk into a KFC. But I will admit that I was on a Morning Star kick for a while. I use Boca for chili. The one place that blew my mind was a Chinese restaurant I went to with Joe in Minneapolis. I forgot the name of it.

it always kind of amazes me how vegans talk.Walking Thunder wrote: it's not a very healthy alternative to blood.
the only vegan meal ive ever had (other than potluck stuff) was at the Chicago Diner. good food but you'd definitely have to get used to the different taste.

Re: Double Down
I prefer "flesh". Most of the blood has been drained from meat by the time you're eating it.

Re: Double Down
Red meat can stay pretty bloody. I'm not arguing that it's drenched in blood; I see your point, and it's taken. But I will still throw around my "sensationalist" rhetoric.robdigi wrote:I prefer "flesh". Most of the blood has been drained from meat by the time you're eating it.

I wouldn't eat it if I thought it was gross. Opinions on that is subjective.Joe wrote:It always amazes me all the gross shit bloodmouths shove into their faces.

It also amazes me all the gross shit vegans shove into their mouths to try to get some sort of substance in their bodies.

I eat fruits and vegetables. Organic style. So fucking nasty.
Eating those oreos at your house was tite though, I do admit.
Also, let me point out that John has a beastly vocabulary.

Re: Double Down
I'd like to try vegan KFC just to see if it tasted anything like regular fried chicken. But yeah, that shit sucks for your health, it definitely wasn't/wouldn't be a frequent thing for me.

Re: Double Down
I'd eat that.
Re: Double Down
I would try both, and enjoy at least 1. I am not a big fan of bacon on sandwiches so I would probably take that shit off. Either that or just get the famous bowl like usual(not really usual, once every half a year do I actually eat at KFC, if even that).
