The Chambermaids are siblings Neil (vocals, guitars) and Martha Weir (vocals, bass), Colin Johnson (drums), and Nate Nelson (guitars.) The Weirs formed the band nearly four years ago in Minneapolis, MN with a drum machine. They cut five demos, put them on their website (http://www.thechambermaids.com) and began playing out in the indie rock friendly dive bars of the Twin Cities. Soon the song �City Predators� was picked up by local college radio station, Radio K (where the band also did an on air performance) and the Twin Town�s music scene was formerly introduced to The Chambermaids.

(Post-)punk’s not dead for local four piece The Chambermaids. The sibling duo of Martha and Neil Weir, along with Nate Nelson (STNNNG, Private Dancer) and Mickey Kahleck (Shotgun Monday, Chibalo), are releasing their second album, Down in the Berries, on Modern Radio. The record artwork was designed and screen printed by Wes from Burlesque and is printed on a transparent vellum stock. It looks really cool! The Chambermaids are celebrating with a record release show at the Turf Club on August 29, with special openers Haunted House, Daughters of the Sun, and France Has the Bomb. Down in the Berries is a vinyl only release which includes a free download code of the album. The band will also be embarking on a short tour of the Midwest in September. And don’t forget to tune in for live performances on Radio K’s Off the Record on August 28 and The Current’s Local Show on August 23. Tom will be joining the band in-studio at The Current, and a track by the band will be featured as The Current Song of the Day Download on August 21.
