Bass gear questions
I'm trying to get a bass amp and I'm really just looking for something inexpensive where I can play shows on the floor or in a basement without needing to be mic'd.
Could anyone give me advice on which of these might be most worthwile?

also, is this bass looks cool but is it worth it?

Re: Bass gear questions
I personally would go for the Carvin, mostly because it would be the loudest at 200 watts into a 15" speaker. You could probably get by with the Crate, but you would have a lot more headroom with 200 watts as opposed to 50.

Re: Bass gear questions
my crazy ass opinion-
crates do not sound very bassey? they usually have a crisper? sound and they usually sound thin. which might or might not work for you.
carvins are usually workhorses and they rarely break down.
for bass amp combos i really like the peavey tnt for starter amps.
i wouldnt spend more than 200 bucks on a combo and id look for something at least over 110 watts depending on what else youre playing with. if its just you theres nothing wrong with going to a pawnshop and buying a little 10 watt 8" speaker for home practicing and learning...

Re: Bass gear questions
If you are picking from those the carvin is where its at. Those others are total junk.
That bass might be okay, I've been getting by on the Hammer for a few years (with mostly terrible results). P-basses are pretty solid. Some Copies are pretty rad and have unique sounds (brandon's hondo).
I seriously recommend the Peavy TNT. Its a solid amp, plenty loud enough for DIY shows. I have one that I've been looking to unload to be honest. If you were interested I'm sure we could strike a deal. The gain on it gets a little muddy, but if you are looking for any kind of overdrive you would have to get a pedal.
Hell, I even have a practice amp that I'll just give you if you want it. I'll never sell it, or use it. It's a rogue, and not really that cool, but if you are just practicing, whothefuckcares!
