- Former second unit director Dan Bradley (”The Bourne Ultimatum”, “Quantum of Solace”) is expected to make his directorial debut with the movie. He’s apparently going to be using the same handheld style on the reboot.

- The bad guys/invaders will now be the Red Chinese, who knocks off America in the first 20 pages, and gets help from those stinkin’ Russians later in the movie. The cause of the invasion? Oil, of course. There are hints that America is kinda to blame, too. In today’s PC environment, that’s not too much of a surprise.

- Our heroes: Jed is now a former Marine back from Iraq and Matt his high school star quarterback brother; Erica is now an Asian-American cheerleader; and Danny is the African-American star running back. Basically, all the original characters will return (including keeping the same names) but as different archetypes.

- The reboot will be very action-oriented. The original was rated PG-13, but it sounds like the reboot might go the R-rated route.

I'm not even going to kid myself. I'm going to see it. Probably within the first few days of it coming out. I most likely will not enjoy it.

I'd rather see roadhouse 2. in which I can only imagine swayze to be old and decrepit and killing punks for fun.

I will definitely see it. No doubt about it. Hell, I'll probably be there on the first night.

Here's what I like: The bad guys are the Chinese. Honestly I was kind of suspecting it would be A-rab terrorists and have some sort of theme about paranoia. The Chinese (like the Soviets of Red Dawn's era) are not likely to invade us, it's just a hell of a whole lot more probable than pretending camel jockeys can take us over.

Here's what I don't like: So the Wolverines are going to have an Asian cheerleader and a black football player? Bullshit. Movies just can't have an all-white cast anymore. Of course they'll make Danny (the black football player in this one) into the hero of the movie even though his character was minor in the real Red Dawn. I bet the movie still takes place in rural Colorado where I'm sure blacks and Asians are just so plentiful. Darryl (C Thomas Howell's character in the old one) that sells them out should be played by a Jew or something if they're going to make it multicultural.

roadhouse 2 is awful. swayzes cousin or something as a fbi/dea/atf guy coming in and acting like a bouncer. gary buseys kid as the villan. not good.

Shane takes off for Louisiana to find out who attacked Nate. Shane decides to stay in Nate's house for the time being, and run the Black Pelican in Nate's absence, much to the dismay of former Black Pelican cooler Bill "Wild Bill" Decarie. Wild Bill wants to buy the Black Pelican since it's located in a prime location for running drugs. The Black Pelican is close to the border, it's between Florida and Texas, and it's in an area where drugs can be smuggled pretty much undetected. But Shane doesn't want to sell, and damages the numerous thugs that Bill sends his way. Also, Dalton was murdered years ago, and Shane still wonders who killed Dalton. When Shane was a rookie state trooper in Tyree, Shane had come home from work one night, and found Dalton fatally shot. After that, Shane left town and became a DEA agent. Now, Wild Bill's boss, Miami crime syndicate kingpin Victor Crost, decides that it's time to handle matters personally, because Wild Bill's men are not doing a good job of it. Shane is soon faced with impossible odds and a low number of staff members at the Black Pelican. To rid Louisiana of Victor, Wild Bill, and their organization, Shane teams up with local school teacher Beau Hampton, who is a regular at the Black Pelican.

I never saw the new Day The Earth Stood Still but I know they completely face-raped War of the Worlds. The original is one of the best sci-fi movies ever (if not the best..or at least my favorite) and the new one... well.... the new one was terrible. I don't say that just because it was different from the old one, I say it because it was a really, really bad movie.

my favorites are day earth stood still. panic! in year zero. forbidden planet(yeah its easy but its fucking great). war of the worlds is great but its got more of a british flair. and the quiet earth(might not really qualify as scifi but more apocalyptic?).
