So this show has been moved to the Des Moines Social Club(the old obama campaign HQ)...address is available in first post. Joe and I went and checked out the space, and were totally digging it. The dood (geoff) said that he would rent the room out to us for $75...not bad...we told him that we are interested in regularly holding punk and metal shows there. He said that once we get a few shows going we could move them to the bigger room with the stage and lights and shit. Right now the room is a little bigger the the HB in width.........only way longer...more space...the shous would be on the floor...there is a bar with fancy beer on tap, wine and whiskey it looked like...the room was really nice, carpeted, painted, not run down and smelly...he seemed down with us regularly holding shows here...so this show will be the kick off, and a great show it will be..so come out and check out this space and see a killer show.
i think it seems fairly promising, des moines could use a new spot to hold punk and metal shows, and this place is into it, and in a central location...so its a good deal...

that place is sort of cool. I don't know if you plan on using their PA but I would suggest bringing your own because 1) it's really weak and barely handles vocals 2) if anybody saw Creepy Kids at the Small Mall in Iowa City, Mark toasted that PA because he's too badass, and it would suck to have to replace the Social Club's PA. just a suggestion.

i'm stoked this shit is happening at the SC.

I was there last weekend for a music/birthday/ho-down thing and it was kind of an indoor festival environment. 2 stages with a band on each stage every hour. it was really wild. this could potentially be a really good thing for the DIY scene.

yeah, im kinda pissed, they keep fuckin' with the show and changing it...it was either in there, or the side showlounge(bar stage)...then they said that this show is going to make a 9:00pm show(that they just booked) too inconvenient because the pa would have to be moved ALL THE WAY BACK to the front.......waaaaaaaah....im still going to push for it to be in that yellow room though....im tired of shit changing all the time
