Food Network did a cross country tour to find the best burger in every State. Talk about a fucking dream job!

Anyway, they picked "The Garbage Burger" @ Hickory Park in Ames as the best burger in Iowa. I confirm that it is a great burger, but my favorite at Hickory Park is probably the Hickory Bacon Quacaomole burger. Also, The Garbage Frank > The Garbage Burger.

My favorite burger in Iowa is probably the Maytag Burger at the Drake Diner though. Either that or Le Royale with Cheese at Django.

that's a horrible choice
The Garbage Burger is delicious and can last you two meals, but it's a novelty. I'm sure there are better burgers in Iowa. There are better burgers at HP.
