You've got to be kidding me.
I wasn't going to bring this up, but I know for a fact that your friends troll myspace, looking for guys to intimidate because it makes them feel tough.
The people you associate with are paper tough guys that have nothing better to do than talk shit to people they don't know, so take that bullshit somewhere else.

That Ryan Parry kids sends nudes of himself to everyone on his phone...'on accident.' I'm not gonna support a band that bitches about shit on myspace instead of going out and doing something about it. If show attendance is so great then why did I see you and your band posting that people need to come and support the scene...

Petty.
Who cares, really? At the end of the day, are you really going to feel better because you bashed someone on 515crew.com? Okay, so their business practices aren't what you'd like, so start one yourself. Its called DIY for a reason. Get in a van and book a tour. Press your own shirts, buttons, stickers, hats whatever, and go sell it. Book another tour. Repeat until the wheels fall off. As much as it pains me, T-Shirts, buttons, patches, etc are all forms of marketing.
If you have such an issue with their practices then start your own and prove you're ideas work better. Friendly competition is a good thing.
THE END

oh god yes.
Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

We have ALWAYS had local bands. I dont know, i read what you had on your myspace, and it was preeeettty clear that you did not want local bands to play.

A complaint against the Haunted Basement. When parents show up on time with a herd of high school kids and a handful of nine year olds could we try to not be the 420 house? SMMS/Hold For Swank please get your rhythm section in order.

I didn't know Hot Topic was a music store. I thought they specialized in baggie black pants with lots of zippers.

Im not a guy that likes to talk crap, but honestly the 620 house is hurting more than helping.
They booked a show with band called Artist Vs. Poet (pop/rock) and they're signed to a major label... not a single person showed up and they had to cancel.
I also once saw a dude take a line of coke in the driveway off of a car. shady?
touring bands are getting the wrong impression of des moines by stopping here.
game over.
ps. my band also did a hot topic in store show. it was actually kinda cool.

What you just typed is completely backwards and silly. You should be booking bands at house shows because you want to see them play, you want others to see them play, and you want to help these bands out. You should be booking them at your house for the love of the DIY attitude and ethic... telling a band they need to do their own promotion in a place they've never been at before for a show that's
in the basement of a house is completely absurd.
As far as I've known, that's how the DIY network works: you hook bands up in your town, you get them shows, make fliers for the shows, promote the shit out of it and get kids to come, and the band that you helped out will then do the same for you in their hometown. In the process of doing this, you will be helping out the scene by keeping it healthy and hopefully helping it to grow.
But, yeah, it is your house, so do what you want, just look forward to your band playing lots of Hot Topic in store chill fests in the future.

I just read this whole thread and this is hands down the best post in here. Joe, FTW!
