They put out ads a couple years ago saying they wanted some new writers, I applied with some of my previous reviews, and they accepted. It's obviously not paid or anything, but it's nice to have stuff published, even if it's just online.

Hah...yeah....they are pretty terrible. All those Springsteen worship bands I really don't get (Gaslight, Hold Steady, etc.) But I'm not here to rip on what other people like I guess, even if those bands suck.

Probably not. Closest date is Minneapolis, and I'm trying to not go nuts with spending money. Sam tried really hard to get them here, but to no avail.

The Hold Steady are indeed terrible, but Gaslight Anthem does it just right.

I actually had them send a promo copy of Pink Spiders to me. They let us choose what we review, provided that it came out within the last six months.
