Pilgrimage made.
The famous alley. Check all the mod graffiti.
The beach in Brighton. The pier that's in the movie burned down since the movie, but it's ruins are still sitting in the Channel.
The new Brighton Pier:
Saw the hotel that Sting's character worked at too, but it doesn't look like how it did in the movie. The IRA blew it up in the 80's when Maggie Thatcher was staying there.

That's awesome. How did you find the alley? Is there a Brighton Mod Tour map sold in the gas stations there or what?
All that's missin' is the retired band teacher with the self-inflicted gunshot wound!
Re: Attn: Quadrophenia Fans
It's actually pretty easy to find. The touristy area of Brighton isn't very big and the alley is between two well traveled roads and gets a decent amount of local foot traffic. I went with a friend of mine who lived in the London area who was familiar with Brighton, so that helped.
There are some maps on the internetz that point out this location and a few others. There's also a webpage that has the locations of a lot of the spots in London where they filmed. I guess they actually have a Quadrophenia walking tour once a month in the summer in Brighton, a guy I know went on it.

good find man, great movie
Re: Attn: Quadrophenia Fans
Did you do any mod girls in that alley, or beat up and rockers? I really only like that movie cause of all the Vespas and Lambrettas, I think the actual movie is ok but is lucky to have scooters in it.

Re: Attn: Quadrophenia Fans
Actually the scooters make it kind of gay. The movie itself is a great coming of age film with a lot more to it than just the subcultural connections. Matter of fact, if they ever did a re-issue of that film I'd like to see the scooters taken out in favor of well, anything. Walking, Ford Escorts, public transportation, pogo sticks, hobby horses, you name it. Anything but scooters.
And no, I didn't bang any mod girls or beat up any rockers there.

For being so in touch with the british lifestyle in so many ways, I would think you would be into scooters. I guess everyone has their flaws.

You're right, everyone does have their flaws. Among yours would be incorrectly assuming that I should like scooters for some reason.
Honestly, I don't really have much against scooters. I just don't really have much for them and don't want to partake in any sort of scooterdom.
Re: Attn: Quadrophenia Fans
I don't see why you would think it is so absurd that I would assume you'd be onto scooters since they have a significant role in the mod, skinhead, ska, British, and other things related scenes that you have an obviouse interest in. But its no biggie, that means more scooters for me.
