that's true. it's ostensibly for safety reasons, though it's also an employment initiative.

i pumped gas for a living while going to school when i loved in new jersey. it only sucked when it was cold or raining out. the rest of the time you got tipped decently and we got to pretty much do what we wanted to. no bosses around.
