I totally regret not going to this shit.

I'm just now getting into both bands. I hate when that happens.

How was this?

You're right, I have never been to a show in my life.

Never.

I didn't go to two shows in the past three nights or anything. But, B.B King and Radio Moscow aren't cool enough to be recognized by some douchebag internet elitist. You're the reason more people don't come check out shows at the Haunted Basement and shit.

You don't see me at shows, because I don't go to the same ones that you do. But, that doesn't mean that I don't occasionally enjoy black metal, because I haven't seen a black metal show since Fall of the Bastards at Hairy Marys. And, that also doesn't mean that I don't support live music. You don't even know me.

Have fun jerking off while crying about Black Market Fetus being broken up.

Joe doesn't even live at the haunted basement anymore. Sure he has an exuberant amount of facial hair, but the truth is you're letting a guy that's a buck thirty five tops scare you away from shows.

Decent blues bands aren't bad, just don't ever work at guitar center.

For the record, I was just fucking around in my last post about the whole Black Market Fetus/masturbation/crying thing, Joe. Wah.

You guys are right. I have planned, in advance, to see a lot of shows that I have not made it to. There are plenty of shows that I have missed out on. But, who hasn't missed out on something they would like to do? I work two jobs and go to school full time. I live in Ames and I don't have my car here. A lot of times, it's difficult to go to Iowa City on a weekend - let alone a black metal show on a Tuesday night.

The great thing about the internet is you can say anything and it doesn't matter. It's the fucking internet. Fuck it.

Servo, I'm pretty sure I met you at a few different shows when I was like sixteen. I know I saw you at Brizzi's Pelican show at the Picador. Anyway, you're cool.

See you guys at Boris. Peeeeeeeeace.

To be clear,

LossOfSanity was coming to shows I was doing at the botanical center, really good ones, long before he could drive. I don't know him personally, but I have always been amazed at how he has been so into good music from such an early age, and I helped him get into many Picador shows when he was underage because he was so into supporting the bands and cool music in general, and NONE of us can make it to every show we want to, especially not ones that far away (2.5 hrs from ames), especially not with gas prices the way they are.

anyway, look forward to seeing you at boris, duder. i know servo won't go, and maybe joe will but i would certainly doubt it, though i love them both.

it's pretty fucking elitist in IOWA to act as though you're king shit of fuck mountain for going to a show you planned in advance -- i missed Wolves at Vaudeville and was upset, too, because I got super fucking into them a couple weeks after the gig after Brian DIngeman got me into them.

+1 scene point, eh?

grow the fuck up.

the bloody lot of you.

I filled my tank up for $1.84/gallon today, dude. No one can blame gas prices for not making a drive for bands that they really like. I'm not really coming down on anybody because I certainly don't go to every show that comes through and I don't really expect anybody to, but the gas argument is moot at this point.

Jason, Jason, Jason, that's all fine and dandy, and I didn't mean to make a spectacle of this, but... I was just pointing out what exactly what Servo posted. That's all.

I'm sure LossofSanity goes to shows, but the whole "I'm so into this band" thing and then not going to shows has become one of my favorite 515crew memes.

QUICK MEMO TO ANYONE IN THIS THREAD

if you are able to go to 21+ gigs and still sarcastically talk about "Scene Points" then begin to start chilling yourself out

THATS IT

Yeah, now it's cheap. I missed shows and visits to Des Moines this past summer simply because I couldn't afford the $4.00/gallon (I'm pretty sure I only made it to one show at the HB). I missed A Silver Mt. Zion, one of my favorite bands, because I couldn't afford gas. And I doubt I'll be able to catch them anytime soon.

Oh well, get it while the getting's good.
