Scenester Credentials is VERY pleased to announce our next release, SC019 The Tanks - keep breaking down, set to be released on November 1st. This will be the bands second full length and was recorded by Luke Tweedy at Flat Black Studios (william elliott whitmore, ft (the Shadow Government), The Horde, Eyes, etc...) earlier in the year. Current plans have this release coming out as an LP w/ CD (limited to 500) and as a CD with hand screened packaging (limited to 500), with art by Ryan Garbes (raccoo-oo-oon) for both the screened and printed covers! The band is currently booking a midwest / east coast tour starting in November, check their myspace for dates and places.
Like a thunderous roar, The Tanks bring their sonic destruction to the venues of the US and someday the world. The Tanks feature a full steam ahead pounding style brought forth by the crushing bass of Adam Luksetich (Nethervoid), the over the top vocals and lyrics of Kevin Koppes (the dude wears mic guantlets!), and the drum wizardry of Joe "The Madman" Ross (weather is happening, swing by seven). In their own words, "We live in Iowa City, IA. We're all originally from Dubuque, IA. We'd love to play a show in your town. Especially if we're on tour. We hope to tour a lot more in the future. It's ever-so-much fun." One of the best live bands we've ever had the pleasure of seeing. As for a sound, we think it sounds a little like if Shellac played nothing but Kiss covers. Fun, talented, and seriously fucked. Take everything your best friends like, that's The Tanks.
check 'em out.

With Joe Ross drumming for them, they have become a million times more amazing, if that was even possible.

it's official.
this is the album, musically and lyrically, that my ears have had a hunger for.
musically we're talking some of the tightest stop/start bass'n'drums ever. structured enough to make you bob and weave, spacey enough to float yer boat.
lyrically i feel as if i'm subjected to a well learned man handing down life lessons to the people from on high. something akin to a dirty mouthed Moses laying down the man-law.
