i just like to hear people's reasons.

i'm not vegan. used to be, fell off the wagon five or so years ago. me and my kids are meatless, they both are dairy free for health reasons. i have no arguments against eating animals in principal, but i probably wont untill i can take it out of the wild and put it on my plate. the factory farms disgust me, can't see a real rational for any of it. cows milk is for cows. i do raise chickens for the eggs, which is pretty much my only non-vegan regular food. they are free range, hormone free, blah blah hippy shit that wont kill my kids and will save me a lot of money. it is amazing the kind of shit that people will put into their bodies and still live to be 80.

so yeah, what about you? if this gets hijacked by naysayers, i will turn it into a race thing. i swear.

i was an electrician in factory hog farms for a year+. made me stop eating meat.

im veggie as of a couple months ago... i don't eat meat, but still drink milk and eat eggs at least for now though (i think this is "lacto-ovo" vegetarianism?)

a lot of reasons really. the most all inclusive one is probably that im on a path to freeing my self from enslavement to the material realm. lol. seriously though.

Anyway, more specifically: health, environmental purposes, spiritual and mental clarity, etc. Ultimately i think that killing animals out of anything other than necessity is wrong. Raising animals for food is also apparently a very inefficient use of respurces in general, and tends to damage the ecosystem.

I was actually a huge meat eater before... all the more reason to stop. Any time you give up something you crave you're making progress. Not to mention that the meat industry (as with pretty much every other big industry) is ultimately run by illuminati controllers and the like anyway.

I quit drinking and smoking for pretty much the same reasons.
