This could have been conveyed a lot more directly from the beginning, rather than resorting to your "stirring the pot" as usual. The most direct part of your post was the size 48 font declaring "there is no scene." That's not easily misunderstood.

i didn't think so either. there is no scene. there are still shows and people who go to them here and there and everything is great, i know. . . . .

The Chaos(which i will now refer to joey as) was going off about paying $12(a ridiculous amount of money by the way, for any band) for a show that isn't even local--talking about the scene as if we have this wide scope of a community that accurately represents the pulse of youth in Des Moines. sorry, i just have a problem with someone copping a "how dare you don't support that!" attitude towards something that quite frankly, doesn't exist.

Adam doesn't even go to shows that don't have bands pre-approved by Crimethinc.

Your point remains?
What point? There is no scene?
That's 100% wrong.
Your point no longer remains.

i'd say it's at least 85% right. i'll give you the 15% for good measure.

the point has returned.

An attention getting post from @ made in such a way that raises the ire of others only to be followed up by a clarifying statement with an air of pretension and superiority, thus compounding the disgruntled environment of the discussion and driving a wedge further between the opposing parties. GASP!!

attention getting. . .self righteous. . .? you misunderstood pretension for opinion. i'm arguing against defining des moines as a scene, not for it like some of the others here. claiming who is and who isn't supporting this so-called scene brings with it an sense of superiority, and that's what i was calling bullshit on.

I didn't say self-righteous. I don't disagree with your opinion, really. It's more your delivery. Over all, I'm just having fun and I'm not really that serious.

tell us @, what is a scene, apparently you don't think that music is a major part. just because a few people are arguing on here doesn't mean that we all don't get along outside of the internet. If you didn't want to talk about mustard plug then get out of the mustard plug discussion room.

I just read 80% of this and it is mind numbing. However a few notes:

Today is the Day was cool to see at Mews. Mouth of the Architect fucking killed it. I had fun.

How many times has the word scene been said?

I just listened to MP and it sucks.

Your scene is not my scene.

Back to the topic - I've seen Mustard Plug. When I was in Moving Mikey we played SKAppleton in WI with them and I Voted for Kodos and others. Mustard Plug is ok but they're not fantastic live or anything. Just listen to Evildoers or Pray for Mojo and you've got their setlist.
huh?
