Photoshop

Post by Walking Thunder » Sun May 18, 2008 1:18 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Adobe Photoshop? Preferably free or cheap. I'm not really torrent savvy so I don't know where to look if I were to download it. And I know legit copies are expensive. I'm also not too savvy with Photoshop; I just want to dink around with it.

Any help is appreciated.

Torrents are the way to go, I would put forth the time to figure them out, its not that difficult and they're incredibly useful

Don't use Limewire unless you are a fan of early hard drive failure. There are plenty of other apps out there that one can use to steal that won't eff your computer in the a.

I just now downloaded this. It's sweet for being free. I'm sure this program could be spiffy if it wanted to be, but I just need it for its basics. Thanks dude.

I view GIMP to be more as a product of a niche market. The name is pretty silly, but I don't think its really trying to attract new users. The software is developed by unpaid volunteers, paying for any sort of marketing campaign or updated branding is probably not a concern.
its a great free image-editing tool, but Its hardly professional. With no Pantone or spot color support, no plug-ins, and limited CMYK

The GIMP is to Photoshop as Flag Day is to the 4th of July.

Just because software developers aren't paid does not mean that they don't take their product seriously. They do it for free for philosophical reasons... Open Source Software is a movement with the intent to change the way the whole software business works. For what it is (free), GIMP is an amazing tool and a real competitor to Photoshop (if you have to pay for PS).

They don't care about branding because most Open Source developers are somewhat antisocial (usually a positive thing when it comes to writing code) and don't really have a firm grasp on how marketing works. They don't take non-advanced users into account. Nerds live for quirky acronyms.
