Why did you have to go and post legitimate sources? Now we'll never see Varg back in this thread.

Re: Varg hits new low: Who's to blame?

DMB are campaigning for Obama by their own choice. What you're implying is that the Obama campaign picked that particular artist in an attempt to woo their fans, specifically.. which is pretty ridiculous. Elton John performed at a Clinton campaign event.. she's clearly chasing the gay English dudes ...

I think I can honestly say I have never stolen from there, aside from taking a few cashews and candy bullshit out of the bulk bins, but who doesn't do that from time to time?!?!? wow. "I think... honestly"? You are a real stand-up kinda dude. Anyway, as you were. Good luck in yr endeavors.

Re: HASSELBECK MAKES BARACK BACKTRACK

Comparing Don Imus to Wright is a pretty big stretch. A pastor is someone you put your trust into and who also does a hell of a lot more for the world than a radio host. They have a far more positive effect on those around them and thus it makes sense to look past their flaws and appreciate the good...

I'm not going to sit here and say "rich people are bad!" like some suburban trust fund punk rocker, but I guess I feel more at home amongst the sans-culottes . I'm taking this off on a tangent, which I apologize for, but on a daily basis I deal with rich people. old money and new money. I...

yes you still have to pay for all the shots and crap but ... ive never had an experience there that wasnt negative. negative how? having a cat spayed/neutered and vaccinated isn't free, and it costs a lot to operate an animal shelter. it's only ~$100 to adopt a cat. if you think that is too much, p...

Re: I now own a Bengal kitten,

I wonder if my cat is part bengal. She's definitely mostly tabby, but she has those same kind of pointed ears, spots on her belly, an orange tint underneath her grey fur, and she's pretty sharp.. I never had to train her.. she used her litter box from day one, and she was only 8 weeks old when I got...

this isn't a left vs right issue at all. most smoking bans are city-based and are voted on locally by the people involved in local politics. it's not big brother handing down an ultimatum.. laws such as these don't pass without public support. btw smoking bans go back more than 500 years, they are n...

Yeah, Nirvana sounded a lot better 16 years ago. Their stuff hasn't aged well. A lot of what made it so great was the context of the times.

I suppose their insufferable legions of post-suicide fans don't help either.

Re: Smoking in bars

Bars in Des Moines are already strictly regulated and are constantly on the lookout for sting operations, which are common. Police probably turned a blind eye in CA because they had better things to do. Des Moines police don't seem to have that problem. Anyway, from my time in Mpls and here in Denve...

The smoking-in-bars culture is dying quickly. Des Moines, being a sizable city that allows smoking indoors, is a rarity these days. It's not just the West Coast, the majority of large cities across the country have smoking bans in place. Once the bans are passed people realize how much nicer it is t...
