Re: MTV's Low Ratings
The last good MTV show that I'm aware of was Wonder Showzen (also, sadly, a show that had nothing to do with music), and that was on MTV 2! A couple weeks ago at work I was looking at the upcoming programming for MTV in a newspaper for a given 12-hour period: There wasn't one block for music videos ...

The Mrs. thinks we purchased our jar of the original peanut butter at Fareway, so maybe you can still get the product there (in a refrigerated section).

Saw it at the Fleur Cinema/Cafe this weekend. Storkus has posted a good summary of what this documentary is all about. I enjoyed watching it, but I think Christians, Mormons, Jews, Muslims, Islamists and Scientologists who have already decided their manuals are 100% factual would have a very difficu...

I recently sold a copy of the Death Piggy (pre-Gwar) EP "Death Rules the Fairway" at a show for $2 to someone. I found out later that it's a pretty rare item. Oh well...I thought it was awful (maybe that was the point, though).

I think Record Collector is still down there and maybe Alleycat. anyway, compared to what we have in Des Moines: WORLD CLASS SHIT I don't think either of these places is open anymore (I did a quick search on Google and neither place seemed to pop up). I think the only record stores (not specializin...

There's a good record store in KC? Maybe there used to be, but I couldn't find any evidence of that while visiting there this summer.robdigi wrote:there has never been a record store of the caliber you see in Iowa City, Minneapolis, KC, or any other surrounding population centers.

where in the either of the articles i posted did it mention a project that either candidate was pursuing to remedy a societal ill? It's disappointing that some of the more obvious negatives about McCain's political actions weren't mentioned (two that come to mind ...

Fan of "The Hot Rock". Some of their songs are ruined by the singing, but I overall think they're very good.

RE:conservative views have no place in hardcore thank you.
I'm not so sure that conservative views can't exist in hardcore music. I just think it's tricky to throw political lyrics into ANY type of music! I'll elaborate in the other thread with a similar subject.
