Strong city - From that other thread

This is happening in tim's from smms basement. Iron Chic is fucking rad, and by far one of the best bands I've ever booked. They recently put out a full length that is one of my favorite things that has come out this year.

Flier on the way.

I've been in it. It's kinda small but it's the only venue I could find, and I looked for like two months. Plus tim is a rad dude.

If anyone needs the address PM me.

This will pretty much be the best show of the year. Stoked for this!

Strong City really needs to get on this. And yeah, Tim's basement is small, but it ain't no thang. Shit's gonna be fun. And he's a good dude for letting Thom do this there!

Having four out of town bands play on a Sunday night in Des Moines is financial suicide.

I might come to see Tricky Vic play.

This show starts promptly at 5.

They are all out of town bands, because no local bands wanted to play it.

Hercules is good but Bent Life is tight. You don't even go to hardcore shows anyway.

I go to shows that good bands play. I'm sorry that I don't like Stand United or Crusader other awful metalcore bands. Also, I live 2 hours away from Des Moines now, so unless I'm playing or the band is really fucking good, I'm not going to come back.

Hercules is the best band that Brock is in, and then it's Koizumi, and then it's this band. Generic hardcore is boring. I'm sure they'll be better live, but I have a really hard time giving a shit about recordings by a band that sounds like every other hardcore band out there right now.

I like crusader. I only saw them that one time, but I thought it was pretty tight.

Shane and Tyler are backyard wrestling at this show.

Shane, Hercules is definitely not a band to write home about. Are they fun as fuck? Yes. But truth is you didn't go to hc shows even before you moved so keep up the cool dude act. You're just a little pop punk dork now. See me in the pit.

Shuuuuuut the fuck uuuuuup.
Hercules is one of the only bands around the midwest that is playing hardcore that isn't absolutely completely contrived. It's interesting to listen to, and from record to record you can hear definite evolutions and switchups on style. I fucking love the almost pv shit their new 7" has and that they're playing live (and here's a tip, good pv isn't mosh+blast like other fucking dorks in the midwest are doing) not to mention they have the best, hardest hitting and most interesting drummer in the whole midwest hardcore scene.

I also think it's funny that you're trying to call Shane out for not going to hardcore shows as if that mattered or something. The only show I can recall seeing you at in Des Moines since I moved away was the one where your friends stole the mics and pedals from the Haunted Basement. I mean, sure, yeah, I've seen you on your bike OUTSIDE of shows, but I don't think that counts for much.
Don't call people out on their hardcore show attendance unless you're supporting every hardcore show thrown in your scene (and in your price range) no matter what the style.

Can someone PM me the address for this show?

-Joe.

LOL . I am just saying, if Shane's going to say some shit about how Hercules is better when it's completely unrelated to this show when he doesn't even care much for hc anyway. Also way to say that these bands are boring and contrived when look at what you dudes are playing. Not the most original I've ever heard...

Crusader and Stand United are my friends, just like you guys and I support them just like I go to your shows when I can which is also irrelevant to this conversation. As far as "good" there were a few shows you (Shane) missed but I guess Four Year Strong was more important!

Joe your post about me not being at a show since then is completely off fucking base, try again partner.
