I had one of these before I bought the Kustom I Lead. It was a great amp, but it was a bitch to lug up two flights of stairs while drunk at 3 am when I was gigging almost every night.

Oh, you've HEARD? The fact that you don't play guitar, makes this an even worse statement. Drummers are not guitar players and do not think or operate like guitar players. You hear things differently. You can sit there and argue that different in this case is 'not worse, only a different viewpoint' but I would NEVER take gear advice from a drummer or even MUSIC advice from a drummer.
Drummers are the worst group of "musicians" on the whole. They focus on counting and rhythm- and spend far less time on pitch, melody, harmony, tone etc. Thus them thinking differently...thus them not talking about amps they don't have a fucking clue about. Serious fucking LOL at anyone thinking you have a point about anythign you said.

::in b4 "not uh this one dude from this one band also plays guitar and he reaaal guuud."::
There is no point in spending the money on those amps because they are all the same. A high gain amp in conjunction with high output pickups is going to sound like literally any other high gain amp. A/B testing will show tonal differences, but live or recorded (ya know, since they both utilize post-signal EQ) they are going to be virtually indistinguishable other than looks. All these "awesome tones" are interchangeable and boring. This is not a hard concept to learn and can be ascertained after listening to any of the bands that use them.
Wrong- on so many points.
Mainly, 1) The Invader isn't a "hi-gain" amp and 2) I (and none of the players I mentioned) use active or "hi-output" pickups.
I don't play guitar, I play drums. I never claimed to play guitar. I'm really good at drums.
Hmm, I guess the drumsticks were a dead giveaway that you're a drummer?
You have never answered the questions, "what band are you in" and "when's your next gig". Your only tool in an argument with a 17-year-old is a picture you edited in paint. You're a sad motherfucker. I feel sorry for you.

Right, so the years of training I've had with instruments like the xylophone and marimba don't count? I have a pretty extensive understanding of melody, harmony, tone, etc. in addition to everything I can do on the drumset. I also record, so there's a whole wealth of knowledge regarding various instruments and amplifiers and how they fit into the tonal spectrum, but I guess since I'm just a drummer, none of that's important. That's cool. I'm glad you cleared that up for me.

The fact that you can't appreciate drummers musically just shows how ignorant and self-important you are.

If my opinion doesn't count according to you, all that does is add validity to all of my claims, seeing that only guitar players with as much esteem and distinction within the guitar playing world as you do (wait, you're not in a band, I forgot) seem to be able to distinguish between the amps you've mentioned. Keep wasting your time and money on these amps, you seem to have a lot of it since you're not playing shows.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Are you fo' rill? To name a few: Dude from Shadows Fall uses LZ4 pickups for bridge and neck, both of which are active. Jeff Loomis uses EMG 707s, once again active. Muhammed Suicmez uses D Activators, surprisingly also active, which leads us to Dimmu Borgir whose guitarist uses an ESP Galder V (with a pentagram on it because he's just that radical). That guitar has EMG 81s in it, and, you guessed it, those are active pickups too. I decided to stop there because I got tired of looking up equipment with fantastic tone. Enjoy your day, Varg.

LOL, I can't believe you looked these up (which is hilarious in itself) and at the same time still managed to fuck it up- for more than half of your examples, you took the OTHER guitarist in the band that isn't endorsed by ENGL.
"Dude" from Shadowsfall has an EMG 81 and 60 in his sig. guitar. I even had to look that up because I don't give a fuck about shadowsfall. The last time I saw them was 6 years ago and they weren't using active pickups then.
Most people who get the Loomis swap out the 707s for SD Blackouts, so I just don't consider the guitar to really be equipped with 707s. Blackouts aren't as hot, are suppose to be the "mid-ground" between passive and active.
With Muhammed you're wrong- because nobody, outside of Necro and Ibanez, knows what he's playing. I guarantee he's got half a dozen different guitars from Ibanez that are all different. Let's not forget he was playing Vigier before that as well as something else that I can't remember now, both of which had passive PUs. D-activators can barely be considered active, they're a far cry from EMGs. Again, you can't even confirm that's what he's using.
Last but not least- Galder, who for awhile no one was sure if he got the boot from Dimmu is not who is the noted ENGL user. That's Silenoz. Who uses Seymour Duncan Metal AHB-2 (BAB-1(N) PU setup.

And who the fuck even cares about who's using active pickups? This was an amp discussion you dumb faggot. Why are you talking about pickups? You and Stuart.

This doesn't make any sense. Dude, everybody on this board can say the same thing. Give me a fucking break. You're just articulating some really pedestrian shit.
The fact that you can't appreciate drummers musically just shows how ignorant and self-important you are.
lol, I never said that and you're a moron for thinking I did or that I even implied it. The whole point of that post was to explain that drummers operate on a different wavelength from everyone else. That's why I would never let a drummer influence my composition. Drums can make a big difference in composition, but they do not affect it harmonically or melodically. Rhythm and Melody are two VERY DIFFERENT things.
When I compose, I will typically allow a drummer to play whatever they want as long as it sounds alright and roughly follows my vision/direction.
If my opinion doesn't count according to you, all that does is add validity to all of my claims.
No it doesn't. Only a drummer would think that.

Well I was talking about pickups because you talked about pickups. You must have missed that quote of yours saying that you don't have active pickups. What kind of gear do you have? I need to know what I should start saving for.

Also when you said "Jeff Loomis" I thought you meant the person, not the fucks who buy his signature only to swap out the pickups. Maybe you should have said "the fucks who buy Jeff Loomis signatures" instead.

Lol, really? This is possibly the most ignorant statement anyone has ever made regarding percussion. I mean, it's not like a marimba is melodic instrument or anything, because apparently if you play it with sticks or mallets, it doesn't count.

This was a joke, nobody would use a metal zone seriously. But the dudes in the fucking TERRIBLE bands that you listen to might as well because their tones really couldn't be much worse at this point. I mean, seriously, those bands are fucking awful. AWFUL. BUT WAIT, THEY USE TUBES IN THEIR AMPS.

I'm suprised that with all Varg's musical edjamakation, he somehow seems to overlook the fact that the guitar is a percussion instrument.
