I wonder why it would be "shutdown"? I mean..the landlord just suddenly got fed up with renting the place out? I'd suspect it has more to do with rent, if this is true (which I hope it isn't).

If it is money that is needed....Nate should set up a PayPal account ASAP and take donations. I'd contribute and I'd think/hope others would too if it meant pretty much the only DIY space in Des Moines gets to continue. Post on it various message boards on the Interwebz.

i stand corrected...
wasnt there always landlord drama, like the landlord wasnt supposed to be renting the place out because of code violations, but he did, and thats why it could be such a 'care-free' environment? i remember something like that, i could be wrong...

i hope its not true simply because it was the only diy space around. but let's face it, it wouldn't be a surprise.

it wasn't anywhere near a legal living environment, and instead of taking advantage of the lax landlord and creating an air-tight space that could have grown into something really impressive, it was a haven for underage drinking. that couldn't last forever.

This is confirmed. Seems to be because of underage drinking.

Welp. This sure sucks.

Guess I'll contact The Transgressions and Lipstick Homicide and tell them Des Moines is a no go. Unless someone knows of another place to do that show? FUCK!

Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

epic bummer. ridiculous that it wasn't even related to a show/lots of people crammed in there but just late night stupidity of people recording. throwing a bass off the roof at 1 am? what did you think would happen?

No wonder it's the southside crew that fucked everything up.

The south side crew that got high was easy to baby sit. The stoners were couch surfin. It was Clint that went awol and blew our cover. That was our first warning.

The cops had their eyes on us after that. SE polk finished the job last week. Nail.In.Coffin.
