for all effects and purposes, no. my ex breanne (really cool illustrator) moved in with her bf larrison and they are homebodies, like to be in bed by 9. i will shoot her an email sometime about doing a show, but i went to grinnell last night with james finch and thomas who just moved up there, and ames progressive doesn't seem to be working. i am ready to start booking mews at least once a month and start doing house shows at hb, thrash or otherwise. going to start slow though.

this show at mews, then the shivers in february. everything will be chill, bands will be paid and treated extremely well. promotion will be all over ingersoll, 6th, and east village along with twitter/facebook/myspace and if you can help then please say so and i will get you the flyer i am working on right now!

i guess i just don't understand the interrogation. the bands are stoked, the show got too big for a house, kids who wouldn't come to the house will come to this and if the opposite is true then i feel shitty, but it seems to me that most kids coming to HB are over 21. i am being guided and assisted on this one and there's no guarantees, and i've never really made money on my shows, i'm just stoked to book again in the city where i started -- doesn't mean i won't use hb for other stuff.

There are plenty of kids that go to HB shows that are under 21... and it's ridiculous to say this show is too big for a "house" show ("house" is also ridiculous to say) when the likes of Toxic Holocaust have played at the HB. I'm not saying you shouldn't book shows like this at the Mews, just when it comes down to the show being exclusive to a certain group of people, you may want to rethink your plans. That's all.

i don't think standing in another room or in the back of the house qualifies as actually seeing the band, joe. there are benefits to the show being at an actual venue, and i realize it sucks to do a show for a punk band like building better bombs that's not all ages, but the band was in on the decision.

also, big thanks to kristy for making the flyer. i am SUPER busy. she says ISU is the best place to get flyers printed, but does anyone know the protocol or where i could get good prints in des moines? been working 10-12 hours a day, which sucks on one level and rips on others, wish i could have been at ghost towns...

anyhow i need to know where you dudes get full color big ass prints done in the area. recommendations? also, fuck kinko's.
