hepatitis B

How long does it take for Hepatitis B antigen to become detectable in one's blood? I have got a negative test result for hepatitis B core antigen total and I was not in sexual contact with anyone for 10 mounts. Is there a possibility that I am a carrier ? I have the same question for hepatitis C .
